ABOUT MICHAEL HENDERSON

Leading the business development teams for the largest group benefits provider in Canada is a responsibility I approach with genuine humility and a very clear sense of what’s at stake. After more than 25 years progressing from front‑line account management to national executive leadership, I understand that market leadership isn’t accidental—it’s the result of aligned strategy, disciplined execution, and teams who know exactly where they’re going. My role as SVP for Business Development is to set that direction, remove friction for the field, and ensure advisors and consultants experience the partnership, consistency, and responsiveness they expect from a true market leader.Because I’ve lived this business from every angle—regional leadership, national strategy, plan‑member experience, and multi‑channel distribution—I connect the realities of the field with the strategic imperatives of a portfolio at scale. I’m focused on enabling people, amplifying what works, and staying close to the signals that drive trust from our distribution partners and long‑term growth. At this level, strategy matters—but the humility to listen, the discipline to execute, and the steadiness to lead through complexity matter even more. That’s the mindset I bring to stewarding a distribution engine this large, and the standard I work to uphold every day.
