About Michael Hayden

I am currently an Operations Manager for the Wisconsin Area for the Arms Security Corporation. In August of 2020, I retired from the City of Milwaukee Police Department as a police sergeant with 25 years of police service with over 6 years of leading, mentoring and developing both union represented sworn employees and non-union civilian employees. I had been a sworn uniformed police officer since August of 1995, excelling in many of the highest skilled positions in my field, including Field Training Officer, Underwater Investigation Unit (police diver) and Tactical Enforcement Unit. I earned my promotion to police sergeant in January of 2014 after graduating with a BS in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Development from Marquette University in 2013. I have used that knowledge in real world settings to not only successfully manage employees in a very stressful and dynamic patrol environment, but also to help manage the modernization of the communications systems of one of the largest police departments in the country. A significant part of this was helping to manage the transition from sworn member management to civilian centered management in the communications division. My duties managing both union represented sworn members and non-union represented civilian members required working within the frameworks of union contracts as well as both FMLA and EEOC requirements.
