ABOUT MICHAEL H SHANNON

Michael H. Shannon, MD, is an endocrinologist and consultative internist at Summit Pacific Medical Center, where he teaches UW medical students and UW-affiliated family medicine residents. He is also the medical director for Ventegra, a nonprofit public benefit corporation that provides medical benefit management. He was previously Chief Medical Officer of MultiCare Connected Care, the population health arm of MultiCare, managing patients in various risk contracts (full cap, upside/downside, and quality incentives). He also served as the CMO of PSW, a Population Health Company, managing Commercial, Medicare Advantage and ACO contracts across eleven states. He also served as its Employee Health Plan Medical Director for employees and dependents. Dr Shannon is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington. He is also the Chair of the Professional Education Committee for the Washington chapter of the American Diabetes Association.He served as the System Endocrinology Lead and Chair of the Endocrine/Diabetes Clinical Advancement Team for Providence St. Joseph Health, a 51-hospital integrated health system, from 20••••18. He served as the Medical Director for his region’s Accountable Care Network, dedicated to quality metrics and reductions in the total cost of care.Dr. Shannon graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Diego, and then he went on to perform an internal medicine residency, geriatrics fellowship, and endocrinology fellowship at the University of Washington.
