About Michael Goldberg

Michael is a career firefighter for a large metropolitan fire department. Through his passion to help others, Michael has turned his hobby of teaching CPR into becoming the largest training provider in the Maryland/DC Metro region certifying over people annually in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Michael is nationally known amongst his peers and travels to speak at various conferences across the country. Michael serves as adjunct faculty for Atlantic Health (Morristown, NJ), Training Center Coordinator for the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Training Academy (Gaithersburg, MD), and Training Center Coordinator for the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (Burlington, MA).

   The Montgomery County (MD) Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), an Accredited Agency, is a full spectrum life safety agency protecting about 500 square miles and over 1 million people who live and work in Maryland’s most populous jurisdiction. MCFRS is a combination system (career/volunteer) in the suburban Washington, D.C. area, operating with an annual budget of about $220 million dollars. The MCFRS annually handles over emergency calls for service and is staffed by nearly 1300 career uniformed personnel and professional civilian staff and an equal number of volunteers, nearly half of whom are actively involved in emergency response. Currently assigned to Station 29 (Germantown, MD)- Special Operations, Technical Rescue
