After 20 years of involvement in implant dentistry, Michael opened Gillis Dental Implants in 2015. It is a referral-based practice offering a full range of surgical and restorative services. In addition to his involvement in clinical dentistry, Michael has discovered a love for educating and over the last 5 years, he has taught both introductory and advanced implant dentistry in both university and private settings.Michael completed his undergraduate dental studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1994. In 2015, He earned an MSc in implant dentistry from Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Michael is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a clinical tutor in the MSc in Implantology program at Goethe University in Frankfurt and a guest lecturer at the Dalhousie University Dental School. He has lectured on digital workflows in Implant Dentistry in Canada, the USA, and Europe.
