Contact local businesses and residences to set up delivery appointments based on customer specifications such as commercial/residential locations; availability of loading docks, forklifts and liftgates; and freight size. Report delivery exceptions due to missed appointments, equipment issues and transit delays. Process bills of lading for FedEx shipments when submitted by drivers, using various company billing systems. Prepare necessary documentation for handling of hazardous and poisonous materials. Answer incoming calls from customers, answer billing and delivery questions, and schedule delivery and terminal pickup appointments. Transport via forklift incoming freight from truck to truck, truck to dock, and dock to truck. Closely abide with all safety regulations, including forklift driving guidelines, truck weight and load regulations, and handling of hazardous materials. Perform accurate freight processing via utilization of online tracking system and report any discrepancies to dock supervisors.
