ABOUT MICHAEL GARDNER

I am a Solicitor and partner in Wedlake Bell LLP. I specialise in commercial dispute resolution and act for a variety of clients ranging from individuals to multi-national corporations, well-known brands and political parties.I am experienced in pursuing or defending claims in the High Court and IPEC in the field of intellectual property law including disputes involving trade marks, passing off, copyright, designs and confidential information. I also advise clients on how to avoid becoming embroiled in IP disputes and how best to protect their own IP rights.Many of the commercial disputes I deal with may include other issues such as breach of contract, misrepresentation, data privacy, reputation management or disputes between shareholders or partners or claims which require judicial review of decisions by public authorities. One day, I would like to write a novel. But for the time being my only foray into book publishing has been to author The Bright Idea Handbook published by Which? Ltd, a book for budding entrepreneurs looking to protect their ideas. I also previously wrote the chapters on IP law in AdLaw: Breaking the Mould Without Breaking the Rules published by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising.
