About Michael Gannon

I have worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for over 25 years and I am truly blessed to work alongside such amazing men and women who risk their lives on a daily basis while making our communities safe. I am honored and humbled to be part of such an incredible organization.Since March of 2019, I have served as a stand-alone Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) for the Chicago Division, Indianapolis District Office. I am responsible for the management, supervision, and coordination of enforcement operations for various DEA offices throughout the state of Indiana. I have overseen five DEA offices and a staff of approximately 100 employees, including Resident Agents in Charge, Group Supervisors, Special Agents, Task Force Officers, Intelligence Research Specialists, Diversion Investigators, professional staff, contractors, technical and administrative specialists. I also serve as a Public Information Officer for DEA for the State of Indiana. As the ASAC I have directed my personnel at targeting, disrupting, and dismantling major Transnational Criminal Organizations, and violent street gangs involved in large-scale poly-drug trafficking and money laundering activities. I have managed numerous investigative techniques to include judicially authorized wiretap intercepts, search warrants, criminal complaints, acting in an undercover capacity, international controlled deliveries, disrupting smuggling operations, and the execution of numerous buy/bust and reverse operations. I know firsthand that the success DEA has had with these complex investigations is because of the exceptional relationships DEA has with our state, local and federal partners. I am also very passionate about drug prevention and educating members of the community about lethal drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine which are destroying communities throughout the Midwest and the United States. I have made it a point to build outstanding coalitions with members of the community, and the media so we can spread awareness and encourage all citizens to get involved and make a difference in someone\'s life and encourage them to get help. I am committed each and every day to being a difference maker.
