About Michael Friedman

Michael Friedman, ND is a naturopathic physician and medical herbalist. He graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1998 and was adjunct instructor of endocrinology at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He is the founder and president of Restorative Formulations, a physician-exclusive supplement company. In addition to practicing medicine and leading Restorative Formulations, Dr. Freidman is also the founder of the Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine (AARM) and the founder of the Journal of Restorative Medicine. He is the author of the medical textbook Fundamentals of Naturopathic Endocrinology, a contributing author to Evidence-Based Approach to Restoring Thyroid Health, and co-author of Healing Diabetes. His most recent book is There’s No Pill for This: A Naturopathic Physician’s Personal Prescription for Managing Multiple Sclerosis (Chelsea Green, 2020).His research on the use of SR T3 has been published by the University Puerto Rico Medical School. He is a popular speaker at medical conferences, and has lectured at three naturopathic and allopathic medical schools including NCNM, UB, CCNM and at the Dehradun Medical School of Physicians and Surgeons in India.

   Restorative Formulations was founded in in response to the growing demand for the unique, high-dose herbal formulations that Dr. Michaël Friedman, ND was crafting to successfully treat his patients, including a patient with melanoma. That same year, Dr. Friedman met Dr. Denis Wilson, originator of sustained release T3 for thyroid conditions, and as Dr. Wilson learned of Dr. Friedman’s clinical successes, he began to spread the word to doctors and patients. Soon, Dr. Friedman was receiving requests for his formulations, and Restorative Formulations, a professional line of innovative, clinically-effective nutraceuticals was born. Over twenty years later, Restorative Formulations products have been prescribed by more than providers, primarily in the USA, Canada, and South Africa.In creating the formulations that comprise the Restorative Formulations line, Dr. Friedman draws on the body of knowledge that the world’s traditional healers, past and present, generously built.But, for Dr. Friedman, a well-researched, thoughtfully designed formulation is not enough.
