About Michael Freeman

Michael\'s career as a Producer / Engineer now spans 5 decades with credits on several hundred albums that include a Grammy Award, three Grammy Nominations, a Blues Music Award (BMA) and four BMA Nominations from The Blues Foundation. He began his career in the recording industry managing Hedden West Studios, a multi studio complex in the Chicago suburbs, later named Remington Road Studios, and became Chief Engineer and Vice President during his nine year tenure there. His discography includes work in many different genres - Pop, Rock, Roots, Classical, R&B and includes 75 albums in Blues. In February 2011 he received a prestigous \"Keeping The Blues Alive Award\" in the Producer category from The Blues Foundation. Michael is the President of Blue Point Records, an independent label and Coachouse Music, a production company and publisher. He is also a partner in the Grzebik Design Group based in Petaluma, California.He has served as Governor, Chapter President and Trustee for The Chicago Chapter of The Recording Academy and has sat on their Advisory Council for The Producers & Engineers Wing.He is a past Chairman of The Blues Foundation Board of Directors based in Memphis, Tennessee and was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame in August of 2024. He is now serving as director at The Pinetop Perkins Foundation Board.
