ABOUT MICHAEL FRANK

My broadcast career began working freelance in 2005. I also worked in live music, as both a front of house and monitor engineer at gigs and in broadcast all over the UK working with many high profile artists. I completed my Diploma in Sound Recording and Music Technology in 2004. While freelancing I worked on various aspects of Broadcast Sound, including: Floor, PSC/Location Recording and Mixing. This gave me a solid broadcast grounding in a live, fast-paced environment and I quickly learnt the need for accuracy and the attention to detail that live television demanded.Since then I have worked supervising, mixing, as a gram op, monitor engineer and front of house on various sport, news, entertainment and music shows in broadcast for Stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos productions as well as Outside Broadcast, with extensive skills and experience in P.A. Sound (Monitors/FOH/Sound Reinforcement). Clients/employers include: BBC, ITV, Granada, Sky, Al Jazeera, Challenge, HBO, Levi\'s, Adidas, Lucozade, Knorr/Unilever, AOL, GSK & ITN.Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with artists and personalities such as: Michael Parkinson, Alesha Dixon, Joanna Lumley, Daniel Radcliffe, Lashana Lynch, Carlos Acosta, Lang Lang, Jonah Lomu, Jamie Cullum, Mick Jones (The Clash), Soul II Soul, Maverick Sabre, Tinchy Strider, Wretch 32, The Kooks, Shirley Bassey, Jordan Knight, Mary J. Blige, Will I. Am, Pharrell Williams, Girls Aloud, Will Young, Shalamar, James, Slow Club, The 1975, Circa Waves and Gaz Coombes (Supergrass).I have composed titles music for two programmes: • ‘Vroom Vroom!’ – Granada/BskyB • ‘The Lookey Likey Show’ – ITVI composed and mixed a track entitled \'Jackie\' performed by Lashana Lynch on the soundtrack of a film by Noel Clarke entitled \"Fast Girls\" that she also starred in released 2012.In addition I have compiled stings and music for shows including ‘The Television Awards’ (ITV).I am fluent with: Calrec, SSL, Yamaha, Digico, SQN, D&B Audiotechnik. BNCS, Riedel & Telex.I have completed official and certified training with: Calrec, Sennheiser, Shute, D&B Audiotechnic, Riedel, Digico and Yamaha.
