ABOUT MICHAEL FITZPATRICK
Michael is a process engineer in Base Metals Industrial Clean Tech. He is experienced with package engineering (material handling equipment and ductwork), with desktop studies including emissions benchmarking, fugitive emissions reduction, dust suppression/prevention, environmental compliance support, gas handling system materials selection, and dry/semi-dry scrubbing at a variety of brownfield metallurgical smelting facilities. He has greenfield copper smelting study experience for fire refining gas handling and secondary gas handling considering several different smelter flowsheets. Michael also has operational review/support experience in which, with the Gas Handling Lead, on-site review and testing of CDS and baghouse operations and analysis of historical operations to better understand operational anomalies were conducted for AMG Vanadium. Recently, Michael was involved in detailed engineering as project engineer for the Fluid Bed Dryer (FBD) Structural and Refractory Upgrades project and the No. 2 Roaster Shell Rebuild project, both at the Copper Cliff Smelter Complex (Vale) in Sudbury, Canada. As project engineer, Michael\'s responsibility was to ensure technical compliance of engineering and design within the project. Careful consideration of schedule and cost remained a core focus, thus ensuring a quality final deliverable to the client.
