Lead the transfer and relocation of Weir Minerals’ production planning and master scheduling processes and procedures for their manufacturing plant from Madison, WI to SLC, UT- Create, maintain and optimize the master schedule in SAP by reviewing shortages and capacity by coordinating with supply chain, production, distribution warehouse, engineering, quality control and sales to keep monthly financial commitments and minimize inventory- Advise supervisors and mgmt regarding labor and capacity requirements necessary to develop a level load in production and to respond to customer requests and keep an OTD of 93% or greater- Utilize Tactic (Advanced Planning Software) and Microsoft Excel macros to help visualize labor, schedule attainment, material shortages, utilization and capacity constraints when making OEM commitments to external and internal customers- Train other production planners in their responsibilities concerning blast, paint, grind and wash work centers and WIP physical inventory counting- Review other reports such as MRP exception messages, work center backlog, WIP, inventory, engineering changes, stock levels, past due items and rework- Seek for opportunities to improve production planning and safety procedures to increase productivity and awareness
