Develop and implement logistics strategies that optimize the supply chain and minimize costs• Determines, assigns, and manages carrier and transportation network• Develop and manage the global transportation budget, in partnership with Finance, focusing on cost control and financial efficiency across all freight categories• Monitors and analyzes transportation metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reports for all freight categories• Responsible to communicate any compliance concerns with Nite Ize or any party involved if violation or potential violation of Nite Ize policies, laws and/or regulations of the USA, Canada or other governing body that has oversight of a shipment• Ensures items classified as hazmat are shipped in accordance with USDOT, IMDG, IATA, and other governing body regulations• Subject matter expert for import compliance program including tariff classification and valuation, harmonized tariff schedule, General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), Certificates of Origin and FTA’s• Subject matter expert for export compliance program including Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), denied party screening, and security regulations surrounding foreign end-users• Subject matter expert for United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) compliance rules and regulations and CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal management• Subject matter expert for Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) compliance rules and regulations and managing the CBSA CARM program and portal• Oversees and manages daily activities of the logistics team, providing them with resources and support to ensure they are individually and collaboratively successful in their roles.• Subject matter expert for management and execution of duty drawback program• Serves as internal and external point of contact for all trade compliance and global logistics matters
