Responsible for independently managing a portfolio of Banks, Broker Dealers, Insurance companies, Sovereigns and Development Organizations across the Americas-Provide independent oversight and challenge of all credit origination activities (including loans, trade finance, derivatives & capital markets products) and approve credit risk exposures within delegated credit authorities-Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the portfolio is being maintained within acceptable parameters, to identify emerging risks and ensure appropriate mitigation is in place-Collaborate closely with key stakeholders within First line, Product and Risk-Ensure compliance to Board approved Credit Risk Appetite (as applicable to FIs)-Identify measure and monitor material risk affecting FI portfolios in the context of the external market environment-Ensure effective management of the operational risks within the Risk function and compliance with applicable internal policies, external laws and regulations-Participate in discussions & revisions of policies and procedures relating to FIs-Represent FI Risk in local Risk Committee and Credit Issues Committee-Lead FI Risk in Credit Risk Reviews, internal/external audits & regulatory exams-Lead through example and build the appropriate culture/values within team-Employ high quality individuals within the team, engaging and developing talent.
