Apr 2014 — Present
April 2014 – February 2018 Stottler Henke consultant working NASA 2012 SBlR topic H10.01,\"Ground Processing Optimization using Artificial Intelligence Techniques\". The ultimate goal is the automation of a large amount of KSC\'s planning, scheduling, and execution decision making. Tasks included: Provide KSC ground operations (including cryogenic operations) and KSC scheduling knowledge and expertise; Help decode/understanding drawings/schematics and understanding related constraints; Facilitate and participate in requirements and knowledge elicitation meetings; Participate in installation and training; Be available as local on-call software-user support; and Review and contribute to evolving system requirements, designs, software, plans, and related documentation. June 2016 – December 2016 As a Stottler Henke consultant (NASA Topic H6.03, Spacecraft Autonomy and Space Mission Automation for Consumables), I observed the NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 21, Mission Day (MD) 13 & 14, operations at the Aquarius Reef Base (ARB) located in Islamorada Florida. The NEEMO 21 crew performed research both inside & outside the habitat during a 16-day simulated space mission. During simulated spacewalks underwater, they evaluated tools and mission operation techniques that could be used in future space missions. I did not perform any underwater activity during NEEMO 21, but I did travel to the Life Support Buoy located just above the Aquarius Habitat on MD 14 (photo). I observed NEEMO 21 to help enhance knowledge of possible future spaceflight operations to support the following SBIR duties: Provide consumables management knowledge and expertise; Provide knowledge of Spacecraft systems and hands-on experience; Develop proof of concept models for ISS thermal management (or other chosen) system based on actual ISS schematics; Develop notional proof-of-concept models for Altair lunar lander and Provide feedback on Intelligent Consumables Management prototype.
