Hands-on software engineering leader with over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry building and maintaining complex distributed software solutions with third-party integrations.With strong experience delivering and maintaining software products using Agile. I have led diverse development teams comprising Software, Platform, Data, and QA engineers, while actively maintaining a technical role encompassing solution architecture, design, and coding. Experienced with TypeScript, Python, Java, C#.NET, ASP.NET, WPF, JavaScript and C++.Working with UK-based SME software company’s that value modern engineering practices such as DevOps, cloud, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Focused on leading engineering teams and collaborating closely with the CTO/Director of Engineering, while remaining hands-on. I really enjoy working with software engineers across the whole software development lifecycle, from understanding business needs and designing solutions to writing code and delivering usable software.I believe software engineering teams need to be empowered to own the software they create (and inherit) from discovery all the way through to operation and then provide incremental improvements until it goes out of service. To achieve this, there needs to be autonomy and a product, not project mindset, where the focus is on creating a long-term impact and taking care of the software they own.
