As the Senior Lead for the City of Calgary’s, Asphalt, Aggregate, Winter Sand, and Recycling Divisions, I provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple core municipal infrastructure programs. I am responsible for ensuring the efficient production, quality, and sustainability of the City’s materials and construction resources while driving innovation, safety, and workforce excellence.In this role, I lead five direct reports and oversee a team of 30 indirect reports, guiding their professional growth, technical development, and operational effectiveness. I manage the coordination and integration of divisional activities to align with citywide infrastructure objectives, capital planning, and environmental stewardship goals.Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the planning, plant production, and maintenance operations of the Asphalt, Aggregate, Winter Sand, and Recycling Divisions. • Lead strategic initiatives focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable material management. • Direct workforce development, performance management, and succession planning for all assigned divisions. • Collaborate with cross-departmental leaders to align divisional outputs with city infrastructure projects and service standards. • Spearhead the redevelopment and modernization of the City’s recycling and materials management programs. • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards. • Manage divisional budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize performance and fiscal responsibility • Manage Develop and execute sales and materials supply strategies, expanding internal and external client partnerships and optimizing cost recovery across divisions.
