About Michael Davis
In 2017, Michael was named vice chairman at Risk International. His career at the company has a broad scope and history. In 1988, Michael joined Risk International\'s Houston office where he worked as risk analyst in the oil, gas, and marine industries. In 1990, he joined Millennial Assurance Services as underwriting manager. He eventually assumed responsibility for all operations, designing a computerized policy issuance system, obtaining approval for a new ocean marine policy form and managing a network of independent agents, which included marketing, policy and premium audits, and claims reviews. In 1994 Michael returned to the risk management group, serving as risk manager to Fortune 500 accounts, including Goodrich, a $5.9 billion producer of aerospace systems; PolyOne, a $2.6 billion producer of polymers; Wesco International, a $6 billion distributor of electrical components; Steris, a $1.2 billion producer of surgical and sterilization equipment; Elementis, a U.K. based $800 million producer of specialty chemicals; Michael Baker Corporation, a $650 million engineering and energy company; Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, a $1.8 billion steel company; Molex, a $3.2 billion producer of electrical components; Aleris a $4.5 billion Aluminum recyler and processor; and Zapata, a $200 million diversified producer of auto parts and food additives. His focus is always to reduce a client’s Total Cost of Risk, and has a consistent track record of success in this regard. In 2009 Michael became President and CEO. From 1988 to the present, Michael has served in a variety of capacities for Risk International and its sister companies. This included experience in captive insurance company management, claims auditing, insurance archeology, underwriting, and risk and insurance analysis. He has extensive experience with the U.S. and international insurance markets, with particular strengths in the London, Bermuda, and Swiss-German markets.
