ABOUT MICHAEL DAVIES
Michael’s practice focuses on Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals, while his firm has developed a niche for representing clients for all their real estate needs. Michael has in excess of 20 years of experience in the real estate assessment field. He represents commercial and industrial property owners by challenging their properties market value and assessments before the Assessor’s Office, Board of Review, Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and Circuit Court’s throughout the state. Prior to going in to private practice, Michael was First Assistant Commissioner at the Cook County Board of Review. His duties included being the Chief of Staff where he was responsible for overseeing a staff of eighteen (18) Property Assessment Analysts. In addition to his Chief of Staff functions he was also responsible for reviewing the assessment appeals for all the major loop properties, all the leasable interests at O’Hare International Airport, as well as other major commercial and industrial properties throughout Cook County. While Michael was at the Board, he presided in over 30 undervaluation hearings. Prior to joining the Board of Review Michael spent a little over 10 years in the financial and insurance industry, where he consulted with corporations. Michael earned his degree from John Marshall Law School, where he attended on a Presidential Scholarship. He completed law school while working full time. He also served as a Justice on the John Marshall Moot Court. He served as Worth Township Trustee from 1989 till 2007, when he was elected to the Chicago Ridge Village Board. Michael currently serves as a Trustee for the Village of Chicago Ridge where he is the Public Works Chairman. Prior to his Village service, he served as a Worth Township Trustee from 1989 to 2007 as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
