   I am the first in-house tax professional that Musco hired, in 2001. The nature of my role as Musco\'s only in-house tax professional requires me to be a generalist - ready to provide information on a variety of subjects to Musco\'s shareholders, its management team, other departments inside Musco, and even our team of expatriates.A primary purpose of my job includes assisting our third party tax preparers in the completion of tax returns for the Musco entities and shareholders. This includes preparation of tax workpapers and organizers, reviewing the completed returns for accuracy, and coordinating the filing of the returns and payment of all taxes that are due. I am responsible for the full life-cycle of Musco\'s taxes - from the planning stage, to filing the returns, to resolution of any examinations that may arise.My tenure at Musco has given me exposure to many of the tax issues that impact multinational manufacturers - including research credits, cost segregation studies, multistate apportionment, and the impact that international operations have on the US tax filings. The TCJA led to a substantial change in our tax structure and I\'m enjoying learning about the C corp world - ASC 740 and all of the associated fun that comes along with it. One great thing about being a tax professional is that your world today will not be your world next year!
