   As the priest of Christ the King Church, I do a little of everything. Of course I preach the sermon and lead two small group studies. We\'ve started an intentional outreach to the area\'s large Japanese population.I also produce our church\'s weekly podcast, taking the sermon audio and carefully editing it so that it fits into our tight, 28:30 second program format.While serving at the church, I write a weekly newspaper column and publish articles on such topics as how churches can impact the culture and revival. As part of the town\'s clergy association, I coordinate the town clergy\'s participation in the Focus on Faith column in the local daily. This means I write in rotation, a bi-monthly column on current events and faith. On several occasions, I\'ve lectured on the history of Islam, highlighting the difference between the Qur\'an\'s and the Bible\'s portraits of Jesus, and taught a five-part Western thought series called,\'Ideas and Consequences.\'I have also maintained connections to groups working to preserve human rights for Christians in persecuted countries.During this time, I\'ve developed a complete curriculum for a bi-vocational Bible college. The program trains the students to have both a ministry vocation and secular vocation. The curriculum can be used for either a college stateside or in Okinawa.Our history is shorter than some, but Christ the King Church was started in 2009 and we became a mission of the Northeast Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church in February 2012.Christ the King Church is special because we do \'convergence worship.\' That\'s deeply intimate, Jesus-centered worship that includes all parts of worship that were present during the early centuries of the church. There\'s the Evangelical, the Charismatic, and the Sacramental-Liturgical.Our concise mission statement reads: Our mission is to reach the lost, grow disciples, and glorify the Lord.
