   Nationally recognized advocate who leads the organization\'s policy and advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels. Works to advance the policies, plans, and projects which will make it easier for people to walk, bike, and roll in communities across the Kansas City metro and beyond.Major legislative accomplishments include- Advocating for the decriminalization of walking and biking (KCMO)- Leading efforts for the adoption of a Vision Zero resolution (KCMO)- Advising and supporting the adoption of Complete Streets ordinances (Westwood, KS; Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS; Osceola, MO; Kansas City, MO and elsewhere)In addition to advocacy efforts, works to provide resources and guidance to other advocates working to advance similar initiatives in the region and beyond.Major resource accomplishments include- Developing a Complete KC DIY Guide for neighborhood issues- Drafting a series of policy briefs to detail the link between transportation and other key issuesAlso works to communicate the benefits of active transportation to the public and elevate the stories of individuals and communities impacted by decisions related to the built environment.Communication accomplishments include- Delivered the keynote address at the 2023 Kansas Active Transportation Summit- Representing BikeWalkKC before elected officials, neighborhood leaders, community stakeholders, and partner organizations- Publishing accounts of victims and survivors of traffic violence
