ABOUT MICHAEL BYRNE
Michael is a world renowned expert in formation damage and numerical inflow modelling. He has twice served as an SPE Distinguished Lecturer. He is an SPE Technical Editor and received the SPE Aberdeen Section award in 2010 for outstanding contribution to the oil and gas industry in the field of drilling engineering. He has several patents awarded and pending and is principal inventor of a new well and near wellbore modelling process using CFD. He has played a key role in the development of recommended procedures for return permeability tests for API and several major oil companies, and has been actively involved in the promotion of advanced reservoir conditions core flood tests with extensive geological interpretation to aid in the reduction of formation damage in the oil industry. He currently sits on the steering committee for the North Sea Operators Well Productivity Network.
