About Michael Buonocore
In my current role as the Executive Director of Aim High, I get the joy of leading an organization that delivers critically needed supports to kids with significant needs related to Autism, while also running entrepreneurial business lines that support our mission and serve the larger community. This includes the Aim High Academy of Martial Arts in Beaverton - a huge, welcoming studio serving kids starting at age three to adults in a variety of styles, including MMA, kickboxing, Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do.My previous professional experience focused on affordable housing and homeless services in the public sector, including as the Executive Director of Home Forward, and interim director stints at the Washington County Housing Services Department and the Portland Housing Bureau. I\'m excited that my new role allows me to return to my passion for youth services, which is where I started my career. In my creative life, I\'m an aspiring screenwriter who has won a number of significant screenwriting competitions, including Shore Scripts Grand Prize for Screenwriting and the Sun Valley Film Festival High Scribe award.
