As a Design and Release Engineer focused on Exterior Trim components, I lead the design, validation, and production release of parts that define a vehicle’s visual identity and aerodynamic performance — including grilles, spoilers, moldings, badges, appliqués, and other exterior accents.My work directly supports Ford Motor Company’s core vehicle lines, with a special emphasis on performance and limited-edition programs in partnership with RTR Vehicles and Ford Performance. These collaborations demand a heightened focus on brand identity, surface quality, aerodynamic function, and production scalability.Key responsibilities include: • End-to-End Part Development: Manage the design, CAD, packaging, and release of exterior trim parts — ensuring technical excellence and alignment with vehicle styling and program objectives. • Program & Partnership Integration: Collaborate closely with RTR and Ford Performance teams to deliver exclusive exterior components for enthusiast models, including track-focused and appearance packages. • Engineering Release & Change Control: Lead the part release process in the PLM system, including BOM development, drawing sign-off, and execution of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs). • Supplier Engagement & Launch Support: Coordinate with supplier engineering and tooling teams to ensure part manufacturability, surface quality, and delivery readiness for prototype and Job 1 builds. • Validation & Testing: Define and support DV/PV plans covering impact, environmental, and UV exposure testing to meet both global standards and performance brand durability expectations. • Craftsmanship & Quality: Ensure exterior parts meet stringent fit, finish, and appearance standards, particularly for premium and performance nameplates.I take pride in contributing to vehicles that stand out on the road and track — combining function, form, and innovation in every exterior detail.
