About Michael Bloemsma
In my current role as Program Administrator of Computer Science in the Curriculum & Instruction STEM Department, I manage SFUSD’s expansion of K-12 Computer Science district-wide, and the curriculum, instruction, professional development and support, and policy associated with SFUSD’s computer science commitment to all students. I am responsible for disrupting the inequitable trends to access and achievement in computer science education and for implementing the district’s commitment to guarantee creative, rigorous, and relevant computer science instruction to all students across all district schools. The position is designed to provide a diverse array of services and activities guided by the SFUSD Mission and Goals that:(1) direct the development and implementation of a district-wide K-12 computer science curriculum,(2) support teachers and leaders to determine how computer science can be implemented in a manner that reinforces SFUSD’s commitment to equity, and (3) orchestrate a range of professional learning activities for teachers of computer science.
