Engineering and scientifically minded individuals and their families come to my team to optimize their financial future. Every financial plan we create is tailored to their particular situation. What might work for someone without kids who wants to retire early and travel, won’t necessarily work for someone with kids or clients taking care of elderly parents. We recognize this. This is why we spend so much time creating my client’s personalized plan. How did I come to this focus? Working in the metals and technology business as an engineer in Pennsylvania, I recognized several things. While I enjoyed engineering, I found myself more drawn to finance. Second, my smart, hard-working colleagues were concerned about saving enough for retirement, being able to afford the college of their kid’s choice, and taking care of their elderly parents. My colleagues with Bachelors, Masters, and PhD degrees had little time to study financial planning intricacies, little trust of the system and a lot of uncertainty. After many discussions with friends, family and colleagues, I decided to study financial planning and enrolled in an executive program at Georgetown University in Washington DC. I learned that I could make a difference. I made a career change and moved across the country to partner with my father-in-law in New Mexico. Due to our geographical proximity to two national laboratories, many of my clients are engineers and scientists. My background as an engineer and my passion for personal finance has made working with engineers and scientist a good fit. Clients come to my team when they want to simplify their financial lives, want someone they can depend on watching out for them, and want to reduce their financial uncertainty.
