ABOUT MICHAEL BEARUP

My 38 years of Big Four audit, board, and organizational leadership experience have culminated in a comprehensive understanding of business strategy and board governance. As a former KPMG Lead Director, I worked to cultivate an oversight-minded and collaborative boardroom environment. My focus was on leaning into big-picture strategy, pattern recognition, and inquisitive, probing questions as the board and management guided the firm through regulatory scrutiny, marketplace volatility, global health crisis and leadership change.Areas of board impact and professional expertise: Robust audit committee governance & strategic advisory experience Change & crisis management Board governance enhancement IPOs / M & As Succession planning Executive compensation The bulk of my career was spent providing audit and business advisory services to diverse industries while driving the growth of multiple offices across the Colorado marketplace. I helped launch KPMG’s Ignition Center, a next-generation facility and business model that transformed KPMG’s go-to-market strategy, later assisting in scaling the initiative nationwide. As Lead Partner for Culture, I launched programs that enhanced and strengthened culture and values, and prioritized empathy, authenticity, trust, and a commitment to holistic well-being. As a long-time Colorado resident, in my downtime, you might find me on the slopes at Winter Park, or out on my bike.
