By doing so, we aim to mitigate the withdrawal of students from their trade courses by providing them with a learning experience that is both enjoyable and beneficial.We believe that our games can make a difference in the future of the UK construction industry by preparing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. ABOUT MICHAEL MIKE BATESON
AboutI’m the CEO & Co Founder at Gamesterinc Limited and Director of Operations at Rockhold Roofing Ltd. I lead operations for a roofing business I set up after being invited by an established scaffolding firm. With 18 years in construction and experience teaching plumbing in vocational education, I design practical, people first solutions that close skills gaps and improve performance on site.At Gamesterinc we build games and learning tools aligned to vocational syllabi to boost retention and support career progression in the construction sector. Gamesterinc is central to my mission to make training more engaging and accessible, especially for people who have not thrived in traditional systems.On the operations side I have stood up end to end scaffolding and roofing services for planned and responsive work, achieved Constructionline Gold, CHAS Elite and NFRC accreditation, and established supplier and subcontractor networks to deliver safe, compliant work.My background is varied. I left school with no qualifications and later earned a BA (Hons) and an MA in photography. I have been a soldier, experienced homelessness and addiction, and worked as a heating and plumbing engineer, site manager, production manager and head of manufacturing. I am three years clean and sober, cohost the From Struggle 2 Strength podcast, and believe strongly in second chances and practical pathways into work.We are seeking an angel investor/sponsor from the construction industry to help raise £250k to complete Gamesterinc’s product build and scale our commercial rollout. I am also looking to partner with contractors in social housing and new build projects to offer our roofing and scaffolding services.
