News Editor of Physics World magazine. Responsible for delivering the news and opinion sections of Physics World magazine. Key responsibilities include:• Selecting, commissioning, writing and editing content for at least 10 pages of Physics World each month as well as regular contributions to physicsworld.com • Contributing to the Physics World special report programme, including Japan (2012), South Korea (2013) and China (2016). • Managing content for Physics World focus issues on Big Science (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014), neutron science (2015 and 2016) and nuclear energy (2016). Involvement in other publications in the programme such as vacuum, optics, nanotechnology and astronomy and space science. Key achievements:• Acquired an extensive network of senior contacts within the global physics community• Travelled to over 10 countries - in Europe, South America, Asia and North America - reporting for Physics World • Developed a network of freelance writers from all over the world to drive the global outlook of Physics World’s news section, which has featured stories from over 35 different countries. • Project managed the first-ever Physics World Big Science supplement in 2011• Contributing editor on the 2014 Science Impact report for the Brazilian Materials Research Society
