About Michael Anderson

Michael started Abstract Architecture in 2014. The firms principles are reflective of his design beliefs, always emphasizing the complete integration of sustainable building techniques and environmentally sensitive architectural principles while respecting the existing built environment and the client’s desires and budget. While his primary design focus is contemporary architectural styles, Michael appreciates the importance of respecting the existing built environment and is a strong proponent of historic reuse as a first option. He balances his focus on the latest knowledge in sustainable techniques with a strong and varied background on material properties and construction techniques. Michael has been a LEED-Accredited Professional in Building Design & Construction (BD+C) since 2005, he is an advocate for smart environmentally-sustainable design and construction techniques. Extremely passionate about the profession of architecture, Michael holds the responsibilities that come with that title in the highest regard. He has been an active member of The American Institute of Architects at both the local and state level. He currently holds licenses in New York, Michigan, Texas, Colorado and Utah.
