ABOUT MICHAEL ABEL

My professional experience includes over twenty years of progressively responsible project management and engineering experience in renewable energy, building construction, and the environmental remediation industry for private and public sector customers. This experience has led to a strong working knowledge of applicable regulations and design codes along with strong writing and presentation skills.Project management experience includes installation and commissioning of wind farms throughout the US, including transportation logistics, and oversight of BOP contractors to insure a timely delivery of the project. Previous experience also includes bid administration for design/build, fixed fee, and public works projects, pre-construction permitting, preparation of technical/bid specifications, contract negotiations, preparation of detailed cost estimates and schedules, and interacting with owners, architects, consulting engineers, and subcontractors. Design experience includes both civil and structural engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Civil engineering design experience consists of preparation of grading/drainage and erosion control plans, utility layout plans, various types of storm water collection systems, and hydraulic modeling and landfill cover designs for large project sites. Structural engineering design experience includes preparation of calculations and drawings for concrete, steel, and wood structures, building foundations, and miscellaneous structural elements.
