About Michael A. R.
Lieutenant Colonel Michael Robinson is an active duty Army strategist (FA59) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University\'s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. He currently serves as a Strategic Wargaming Analyst at the Center for Army Analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University and is a former non-resident fellow at the Modern War Institute (MWI) at West Point and a current term member at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). His research focuses on US and comparative civil-military relations and has been published in numerous scholarly outlets and public media venues. He is the author of Dangerous Instrument: Political Polarization and U.S. Civil-Military Relations (Oxford University Press, 2022), winner of the 2024 Andrew F. Krepinevich Book Award, which examines the impact of partisan polarization on the growing challenge of military politicization.
