About Michael Jia

Hi! I\'m a Computer Science student at Northeastern University (Minor in Mathematics) with hands-on software engineering experience through a co-op at TurboTides.I\'ve built production backend systems, a cryptographically signed license issuance API (FastAPI, PostgreSQL, JWT), an automated database regression testing framework, and a Python image preprocessing pipeline. I also built the admin frontend for the license system from scratch in vanilla JS/HTML/CSS.Outside of work, I\'m building an RL-based market making agent and a personal automation bot deployed on AWS EC2.Strong in Python, Java, SQL, and JavaScript. Interested in backend engineering, data engineering, and applied ML.Available for co-op/internship May–December 2026.

   Building a RESTful backend API (FastAPI, PostgreSQL) for issuing cryptographically signed software licenses with HMAC-SHA512 signing per feature, binding licenses to specific machines without embedding secrets in the license file• Designing a relational database schema (customers → computers → licenses → features) with foreign key constraints and JWT-authenticated admin CRUD endpoints• Implementing a nightly scheduler for proactive license expiry reminder emails and deploying the full stack on AWS EC2 with Docker Compose• Building a vanilla JS/HTML/CSS admin frontend including a user login flow, license generator page, and admin dashboard for managing customer licenses
