About Michael Burns
The global population and the appetite for energy continues to grow as the health of our planet requires us to develop and transition away from fossil fuel towards sustainable and carbon reduction sources. Policy Makers, Consumers, and Thought Leaders are evolving to answer the challenge and innovative companies are responding with carbon reduction alternatives to power our planet. Sustainable aviation fuels, industrial biochemicals, sustainable maritime fuels are just the start of the revolution. While we will need our brilliant scientists and technologists to develop sustainable and affordable options, it will take us all to change the trajectory and heal our planet. For more than a decade Invizyne Technologies has been simplifying and transitioning complex reactions that happen within a cell to precise synchronized reactions without the burden of a cell. The original work on this “cell free” approach, which was initiated in the labs of UCLA and nurtured by passionate technologists, is especially equipped to join the battle. The specificity of Invizyne’s “cell-free” reactions enables a variety of low carbon sustainable feedstock to be utilized to produce a diverse collection of molecules. We are working tirelessly to bring the next generation of synthetic biology and biomanufacturing 2.0 to the market. Today we are refining, optimizing and validating our work with our partners to address the challenge of energy transition with our single-minded focus of bringing affordable and impactful sustainable bioenergy and biochemicals to the market. As the EVP of Energy Transition at Invizyne Technologies I am responsible for bringing the groundbreaking work from our labs to the market. Together with our scientists, investors, and commercial and government partners we intend to change the landscape of synthetic biology and create affordable paths to the next generation of sustainable products. We believe in a future where “cell-free” technologies will navigate the most difficult challenges and deliver the next generation of the world’s Bio-Energy and Bio-Chemicals.My functional competences and experience: • Business Development • Global Licensing• Project Development • Project Finance• StrategyIndustry Experiences: • Biorefining • Bioenergy, Bioethanol and Biochemicals • Petrochemical Personal Competences: • Drive/high energy level• Results and action oriented• Team player• High integrity • Persistent
