As the Lead Engineering Project Manager for Coventry Very Light Rail (CVLR) trackform development, I’m driving the end-to-end delivery of a pioneering track system that will redefine urban mobility. My role bridges technical innovation, infrastructure integration, and strategic project execution — from concept and safety development through to installation and commissioning in Coventry’s City Demonstrator.I work closely with Coventry City Council and a range of delivery partners to develop a robust, performance-led trackform product. This includes managing procurement, budgeting, risk, and programme milestones while ensuring technical specifications, testing protocols, and lessons learned are embedded into our delivery model. I also serve as the primary technical advisor and public-facing lead on all presentations and demonstrations related to the CVLR trackform.• Leading the development, procurement, and construction of the unique CVLR trackform, alongside supporting infrastructure, for the City Demonstrator project.• Providing strategic technical guidance on trackform safety, system integration, and performance requirements to shape a standardised, manufacturable product.• Overseeing the full project lifecycle from design to testing and commissioning, aligning with city transport goals and national innovation standards.• Managing the track workstream budget, programme, and risk register to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.• Supporting Principal Designer and wider project team with specialist advice related to trackform and infrastructure.• Authoring and presenting all trackform-related demonstrations and technical briefings on behalf of Coventry City Council.• Capturing and applying lessons learnt from earlier pilots to inform ongoing delivery and system refinement.
