About Micah Duchesne
I am the director of the neuroscience service line at Sutter Health. We provide comprehensive care throughout Northern California, featuring over 110 neurologists and 40 neurosurgeons. Recognized by Becker\'s Hospital Review as a top 100 hospital for neurosciences, Sutter runs 17 certified stroke centers, 3 epilepsy centers, and the Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Center. We have set standards throughout the SF Bay Area for neurological services. I played a key part in creating additional capacity so that we now provide services to several non-Sutter hospitals.Before Sutter Health, I: • Directed operations across 8 locations for a $600M service line at Rush University System for Health.• Worked as a strategic director of operations at Stanford Health Care, and saved ≈$10M per year.• Served as a portfolio leader and director of strategic management at Kaiser Permanente.• Enabled a biotech company to increase yearly revenue by optimizing and scaling international supply chains. • Regularly kept operations budgets in the black.• Led technology implementations, hosted a conference at Stanford Health Care, and worked as the main point of contact between doctors and software developers. • Made clinical and hospital operations more data driven, and found opportunities for continuous improvement. • Built top-notch teams of hospital operations professionals, and achieved <5% annual employee turnover throughout my career. • Leveraged travel in APAC, Europe, South America, Central America, and Australia to build relationships with people from diverse cultures. In my spare time, I enjoy fitness-related activities, including hiking, mountain biking, running, and golf.
