The Hydrogen and Thermal group at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) performs a unique role in the solid oxide electrolysis community and more broadly the hydrogen economy. We work to provide 3rd party validation to commercial developers of steam electrolysis technology in addition to addressing fundamental research needs in the space. I work across the technology stack providing support for basic materials research, stack testing, and up through the development, build, and validation of large scale testing facilities to operate full size commercial electrolysis systems. Going even further I help support the post processing and end use opportunities for hydrogen integration into fertilizers, metals, liquid fuels, and other hydrogen based product.
