About Micaela Blei
In 2012, I got onstage at a Moth StorySLAM without meaning to. I\'d put my name in the hat to support a friend; I didn\'t think I\'d actually get CALLED. I’ve been telling and teaching stories ever since. I’m a two-time Moth GrandSLAM winner and the former/founding Director of Education at The Moth, I’m the resident professor of Storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine, and my Audible Original memoir \"You Will Not Recognize Your Life\" was a top 3 Audible Original listen for memoir/pop culture in 2024. My full length memoir is forthcoming from HarperOne in 2027!Here’s how we can work together:* Bring me in to give your team, cohort or class an unforgettable masterclass in storytelling and narrative strategy.* Book me for a keynote about storytelling for impact that will inspire your audience and leave them laughing.* Send me a story or narrative and I\'ll send you expert, detailed feedback, with a Story Audit.I’ve helped storytellers from Meta engineers to high school seniors, from Buddhist leaders to memoir writers. My students have won Moth slams, funding, and publishing deals. And with a PhD in narrative education, I\'m literally the Story Doctor. Some nice things people have said about working with me:\"Micaela is a pro in every sense of the word. She\'s a complete joy as a human, of course, but she\'s also so immensely talented as a writer, performer, and teacher.\"Sarah Fay, founder of Writers @Work, bestselling author of \"Pathological\"\"As a storytelling coach, Micaela is a both sharp edge, able to cut into the heart of a story to find what makes it tick, and gentle encouragement personified.\"Nimisha Ladva, playwright and storyteller\"Micaela\'s instincts for narrative are truly special - she not only knows what the story needs, she knows what the storyteller needs to tell the story. She\'s an invaluable asset that gives any project an infusion of heart, humanity, and craftsmanship.” -Sam Dingman, Creator and Host, Family Ghosts
