ABOUT MICAELA CASTELLINO
From September 2018 I\'m working at the Applied Science and Technologies Department (DISAT)@ POLITO as Assistant Professor (Condensed Matter Physics). I’m the XPS lab responsible both for the DISAT and IIT@Polito, dealing with characterization of surface materials produced and studied in our department (carbon-based materials, graphene oxide, zinc oxide nanowires and thin films, ceramics, metallic nanoparticles.) and in the Advanced Materials Group of the Center for Sustainable future technologies - IIT (polymer composites made with carbon based materials, CNTs, graphene, rGO, C-onions, metal alloys, food matrices, biomedical devices, …). Thanks to my just mentioned background I’m interesting in the following research subjects- Chemical-physical and morphological characterization of materials for energy conversion application- Surface reaction study on thin film coatings (organic, inorganic, biomaterials)- Investigation regarding materials contamination due to several deposition processes or passivation techniques. My academic experience has often led me to face challenges and work in teams to achieve common goals, and it is within such a dynamic environment that I grew up and learned lessons. I also had the opportunity to work closely with companies, to carry out exchange projects between universities and industries. In this framework, in 2019, I received the \"Tecplan Achievement Award\" from Vishay Inc, for having contributed to the resolution of problems related to an automotive product, thanks to the problem solving skills and cooperation ability within the Polytechnic - Vishay research team. In addition to academic experiences, I am able to make a contribution in terms of enthusiasm, striving towards objectives, ability to guide and motivate resources, commitment: all supported by a solid and demonstrable scientific basis. These characteristics just indicated have been recognized in me over the years by the people with whom I have worked and represent my personal heritage.
