About Crouse
As an award-winning impact communications strategist and certified coach and facilitator, I founded Big Mountain Impact to help organizations and leaders define not just what they stand for, but how they live it. With two decades of experience across the public and private sectors and an MBA from Columbia Business School, I partner with organizations to foster intentional leaders, strengthen teams, and communicate with clarity, credibility, and purpose. I have spent my career advancing solutions to critical challenges, from climate and health to equity and opportunity. I design communication strategies that resonate, facilitate retreats that unlock alignment, and coach leaders and teams to operate at their best. As a member of the Fractional Sustainability Leaders Collective, I provide executive-level communications leadership on a flexible basis, helping organizations move ahead without the need for a full-time hire. At Golin, I served as a senior purpose leader advising global brands including LEGO, Dow, PepsiCo, Sierra Nevada, and Wells Fargo. Earlier in my career, I led sustainability communications at Walmart and spent a decade at Environmental Defense Fund, where I directed communications for clean energy and global clean air initiatives. I began my career in government and renewable energy, building a foundation in policy, markets, and engagement. Beyond my core focus on strategic communications, leadership development, and facilitation, I bring deep experience in thought leadership, NGO engagement, campaign management, media relations, public affairs, and content strategy. I help organizations communicate complex impact work clearly and credibly, including work on ESG standards, frameworks, and reporting. My work has secured top-tier media coverage in outlets including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Guardian, Nikkei Asia, Bloomberg, Reuters, Associated Press, NPR, TIME, Vox, Axios, Trellis, and Grist. I hold an MBA with a focus on Social Enterprise from Columbia Business School and a BA in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. I am an ICF-certified professional coach through the Center for Coaching Certification, with additional certifications in high-performance team coaching from Erickson Coaching International and facilitation from Facilitator School. I was recognized with the Austin Under 40 Award for Energy, Mobility & Transportation in 2019 and have served in advisory and board roles with the Blue Horizons Project Council, TX League of Conservation Voters, SXSW Eco, and Explore Austin.
