ABOUT MICHAEL BAUER

I am an experienced people and technology leader with work experience across several different industries at different layers of the stack. Currently I am an engineering lead at a software startup called Nominal, where we\'re building and scaling modern software tools to solve the modern hardware team\'s data infrastructure needs.Before working at Nominal, I spent four years at Relativity Space where I was responsible for building and scaling test and launch software infrastructure. This eventually culminated in a successful launch of the Terran 1 launch vehicle, using the systems our team built over 3+ years. Prior to Relativty, I worked on production AI compute scheduling infrastructure at Meta. Before joining Meta, I was a founding engineer of an HPC software tech startup, Sylabs. At Sylabs, I was the lead software architect of Singularity - the most widely utilized compute-oriented (HPC) container platform. Singularity is critical for the operation of the majority of the world\'s largest supercomputers, handling multiple millions of container workloads per day around the world.
