WORK HISTORY
Head of School @Crosstown 119
As a school, CrossTown 119 believes learning should be student-centered and teachers should be valued and cared for. We believe both can only be done through truly knowing and loving the individual, not a one-size-fits-all system. The more we care for teachers, the more we care for students and their families. We are building a school around our relationships with each individual student who will be attending our school and making a safe environment for teachers to flourish and teach well.As Head of School, I researched and developed an educational plan for the school, which includes the school model, curriculum and methods to be used. During the school year, I oversee the educational model, planning and teachers. I continue to develop them to execute the model more effectivelyand oversee student development. As well as, foster good relationships with parents/families through communication and gatherings. CrossTown 119 Teaching values- Respect for the child + their story- Student-based teaching + interest-based learning- Student independence & intrinsic motivation- Hands-on learning, experiential learning- Project learning incorporating art, movement, quality literature and natural gifts- Safe environment to encourage risks, sharing joy + concerns
