About Mia Medina

I care about making an impact and creating systemic changes that can provide better supports for community members. I operationalize a statewide strategy to increase access to school meals among K-12 students in Texas. I cultivate and manage statewide partnerships, provide consulting services to school district child nutrition offices, and build coalitions to create a groundswell of support for policy and advocacy initiatives. Past accomplishments include- Launched the Texas Rural School District Cohort which has provided $500K in grant investments to 19 rural school districts and encouraged peer-to-peer learning through bi-monthly calls- Managed the No Kid Hungry Texas grants portfolio resulting in over $10M invested in school districts and community non-profit organizations since 2020- Engaged in media and advocacy efforts to eliminate reduced-priced meals at school resulting in 70K more kids having access to a free school breakfast each daySkills: Portfolio management, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, coalition building, grants strategy, strategic communications, program development, impact measurementIf you’re interested in connecting, you can reach out to me at M••••••••@gmail.com
