ABOUT MIA SIMMS

Mia Simms is an accomplished finance professional and project manager based in Washington, D.C, with a robust background in strategic financial oversight, risk management, and organizational effectiveness. She holds a Master of Science in Finance from Georgetown University\'s McDonough School of Business, where she led investment competitions and guided projects tackling anti-money laundering legislation. She also earned a CORe Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School Online and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Virginia Tech.Currently, Mia is serving as a States Budget Manager for the Kamala Harris presidential campaign with the Democratic National Committee, managing multi-million dollar state budgets and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Previously, she was a Consultant at Deloitte, where she leveraged natural language processing models for financial risk analysis, helping to predict bank runs through sentiment analysis. In her role as a Senior Managing Partner at Limina Consulting Group, Mia has driven organizational profitability through in-depth financial reporting and strategic insights.Mia’s expertise spans various sectors, including healthcare, where she led projects at the American Association of Medical Colleges, and corporate compliance through her auditing role at Volkswagen. She is also the founder of Urban Wormen, a business promoting urban agriculture.
