Inaugural Shelton Endowed Chair for Cognitive Health within Atrium Health Neuroscience Institute-Charlotte, part of Advocate Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I am building a multidisciplinary program focused on delivering high-quality, patient and family-centered cognitive care. ABOUT MIA YANG
As the Cognitive Chair within Atrium Health Neuroscience- Charlotte, I am building a multidisciplinary cognitive health program focused on delivering patient and family-centered memory care, from the earliest memory changes to end of life dementia care, with engaged community partners. I will oversee the clinical strategy, expand access to memory care, and guide quality improvement, education, and research efforts that benefit patients across the Greater Charlotte region. I will continue to lead the CMS Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) programs across the 4 GUIDE sites within Advocate Health as well as retain secondary appointment within Wake Forest Baptist Internal Medicine-Section on Gerontology & Geriatric Medicine and the Department of Implementation Science. To allow anyone anywhere to have access dementia care knowledge, I also produce and host a podcast, Ask Dr. Mia, where I help sandwich generation caregivers on navigating dementia caregiving, available on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.
