About Mia Wallace

Hi, my name is Mia and I am a current sophomore at Marist University. I am studying Media Studies and Production with a concentration in Film and Television and a minor in Fashion Merchandising looking for experience utilizing my creative, organizational, communications and media based skills. I create media to actualize my ideas and document the beauty I see, but more importantly, to capture the ideas and perspectives of others. We all experience life differently, which means everyone’s story is a unique and meaningful contribution to the world. Even in my daily life, I enjoy using media and communications as a way of expressing my creativity, documenting the beauty in my life, strengthening my skills, and hopefully inspiring others. I am interested in a variety of careers within the realm of media production and communications. For example, I enjoy video and photo editing, camera operating, writing articles, screenwriting, pre-production research and scheduling, and creating promotional social and digital media content. I have been lucky enough to gain experience through amazing opportunities such as being on the Video Production team for Marist\'s Silver Needle Runway, volunteering at the Hudson Valley Sustainable Fashion Show and Marist Runway of Dreams, writing articles for the Marist Circle, and working as a Sales Associate at the Gap. At Marist, I am apart of various other clubs and organizations such as Ethical Fashion Initiative, Femme club, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. While art can be made at anytime, anywhere, even without top-of-the-line resources or opportunities, I hope to continue collaborating with other creatives and someday bring my work into the professional world.
