I had the honor of voicing Aunt Lily in Disney/Pixar’s Turning Red (March 2022). My journey with the film began during preproduction, where I spent two years recording and developing the character of the mother, Ming. While I understood that the lead role would ultimately go to a celebrity—Sandra Oh, whom I deeply admire—it was an incredible honor to be offered the role of Aunt Lily. This transition never felt like a demotion but rather an opportunity to bring another vibrant character to life in this heartfelt, culturally rich story. My role was highlighted in Marie Claire Magazine’s March 2022 issue, which described me as:\"Mei\'s second Aunt Lily is voiced by newcomer Mia Tagano, a stage actor who has performed at Lincoln Center in New York City and toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company in England. She\'s also a prolific acting and speaker coach based in California\'s Bay Area.\" New project on the horizon!
