Expanding our understanding of the western genre, Mia Mask discusses BUCK AND THE PREACHER (1972), re-released by Criterion in August 2022. In the following introduction to A RAISIN IN THE SUN recorded in 2020, film scholar Mia Mask explores Sidney Poitier’s significance as both one of the greatest actors of the twentieth century and an agent of social and cultural change. She continues to consult for Criterion. She was interviewed for the \"Introducing Black Westerns\" documentary in 2021. And, she will appear in an introduction to other Poitier vehicles re-released by Criterion. Criterion released a dvd and blu-ray of A RAISIN IN THE SUN (1961). They included a number of archival interviews with Lorraine Hansberry and other cast/crew from the stage production. They also included newer supplements addressing Sidney Poitier\'s involvement / development of the Walter Lee Younger role; where the play/film fall within Poitier\'s career; and how this role differs from other roles Poitier played. DVD features include an interview with Mia Mask.
